A disease such as cancer is often one of the most stressful experiences of a person's life. Coping with cancer can be more challenging with added stress from work, family, or financial concerns. Everyday stress can also make coping with a cancer diagnosis more difficult.

Stress has not been shown to cause cancer. But chronic stress may weaken the immune system, causing other health problems and decreasing feelings of well-being.

Researchers from around the world are sharing the most important discoveries in global cancer care during the ASCO20 Virtual Scientific Program May 29-31. Among the featured science will be 31 studies first-authored by researchers previously funded by Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation.  


A pandemic divided the world, but united people conquering cancer.

Nashville songwriter Tim Easton penned “We Can” in the days following the COVID-19 pandemic. The song and video, starring survivors and researchers from around the world, inspired a Twitter challenge to raise $1 Million to support patients and their care teams.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation, is honored to announce the recipients of its awards supporting researchers with projects spanning many areas in cancer care, including immunotherapy, lung, breast cancer, and palliative care. The awards will be given in conjunction with the 2020 ASCO Virtual Scientific Program.
