Alexandria, Va. – Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation is pleased to announce the 2020 International Innovation Grant (IIG) recipients. IIGs provide a one-year research grant of up to $20,000 to a nonprofit organization or government agency in support of novel and innovative projects that can have a significant impact on cancer control in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The award is intended to support proposals that have the potential to reduce the cancer burden in local communities, while also being potentially transferable to other LMIC settings.

These awards recognize the quality and scientific merit of research submitted by oncology fellows and trainees to an ASCO-sponsored or cosponsored meeting. The selected early-career researchers of these Conquer Cancer Merit Awards presented their findings at the 2020 Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium in San Francisco, Calif., from January 23 – 25, 2020.

Boxer, MD, FACS, and global pharmaceutical developer and immuno-oncology expert Amy Peterson, MD, will help guide Conquer Cancer in its support of funding breakthrough research for every type of cancer.
Alexandria, Va. - Conquer Cancer®, the ASCO Foundation is proud to announce Rebecca DeBoer, MD, MA, and Bishal Gyawali, MD, PhD, as recipients of the 2020 Conquer Cancer-Bristol-Myers Squibb Global Oncology Young Investigator Award (GO YIA): Implementation Science to Address Oncology Care in Low- and Middle-income Countries (LMICs). These GO YIA grants support early-career researchers with projects focused on developing and implementing training models for primary care physicians and identifying sustainable resources to address oncology care in LMICs.
Conquer Cancer®, the ASCO Foundation is proud to announce the recipients of its 2019 Breakthrough Summit Merit and Abstract Awards. These awards recognize oncology fellows, junior faculty, and trainees for their valuable research in clinical cancer treatment and technology innovations in cancer care. Awardees will present their research at the inaugural ASCO Breakthrough: A Global Summit for Oncology meeting taking place on October 11-13, 2019, in Bangkok, Thailand.
